Member for Sandgate, Stirling Hinchliffe, said Christmas has come early for community groups across the Sandgate electorate, which are set to share in over $86,000 as part of Round 97 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
“In this latest round of funding announced, the Brighton Bulldogs Soccer Club, All About Living Inc. and Koobara Aboriginal and Islander Family Resource Centre Inc. were big winners benefiting from grants to help them improve their facilities,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
“This is exciting news for these groups and allows them to fund projects that would have otherwise been out of reach.
“It is wonderful to see these groups receiving funds that will allow them to improve the services they provide to the local community here across the Northside.
“These groups are the backbone of the community and am I proud to be part of a Government which is committed to supporting them as much as possible,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is the state’s largest one-off grants programme and provides some $54 million a year to our vital community groups.
