About Stirling Hinchliffe

Since September 2006, Stirling Hinchliffe has been the Labor member for Stafford.

Stirling chose to live locally with his young family, after growing up in the area attending the Craigslea Primary and High Schools and living in the area since he was four.

At age 38, Stirling already has a track-record of local community involvement, including as founding president of the Chermside and Districts Historical Society. Prior to his election, Stirling was a self-employed property industry analyst.

Stirling and his wife Megan have three children aged 11, 8 and 3 and reside in the suburb of West Chermside.

As well as more than twenty years active service within the Labor Party, he brings a wide range of work experience from the private sector and from government at all three levels.

Stirling was appointed Minister for Infrastructure and Planning in the recent Cabinet reshuffle due to the election in March.
